Established in 1886 by workers at the Royal Arsenal weapons and ammunition factory in Woolwich (South East London), it was only in 1893 that the first South England club joined the Football League, and in 1913 it moved to its present location in North London. The 30's were one of the most successful times in the club's history, and during this decade Arsenal won five League Championships and two FA Cups. In the years following World War II, the club enjoyed little success, but in 1971 it became the second club in the 20th century to win the double. The last 20 years have been prolific for the club, as it won many trophies under Arsène Wenger management: One FA Cup and League Cup double, two Championship and Cup doubles and unbeaten Premier League Championship season.
